For this development, located between Boulevard Konrad Adenauer and the Reimerwee Park, the challenge was to present an ambitious societal project that would foster quality neighbour relations and offer appropriable and flexible flat units, with large openings to the outside.
The site’s unique character is expressed through two differentiated façades: urban and gridded toward the street and open and irregular toward the park. The structure that was proposed (columns/floor slabs) abolishes the usual limitations and leaves a clear floor plane, suitable for a large variety of configurations and capable of accommodating future changes in the building. This versatility is evidenced in the wide typology of units: floor-through flats, duplex flats, small units with access to a garden, all organised around large corridors flooded with natural light.
