The project is located in a street typical of this district that lies in the immediate outskirts of Paris, shaped by narrow winding streets and buildings of all sizes. Looking out of place surrounded by taller elements, a low two-storey house stood on the lot; it had become too small for the family, who still would not move away. Two more floors were built on top of the house, supported by a metal framing structure, both lightweight and well-suited to the very restricted space available. The new layout has rooms reorganised vertically around a new staircase that serves floors of different heights. Terraces provide additional space above the upper floors and help bring coherence with the surrounding environment.
