SOCIAL RESIDENCE OF 92 HOUSING UNITS, VAULX-EN-VELIN

The project, located in the heart of Hôtel de Ville ZAC (mixed development zone) in Vaulx-en-Velin, is one of the first elements of the new urban development connecting the town’s central districts with the lower-density suburban neighbourhoods. To emphasise the identity of the ZAC, the building uses a dual language: an irregular grid pattern on the urban façades and wide openings on the garden side, which both contribute to cancelling the repetitive effect resulting from the nature of the programme. In parallel with the considerable amount of work invested into optimising interior floor plans, residents have access to common areas and outdoor spaces that were designed for neighbours to meet and connect with each other.
