A LA CARTE HOUSING, PARIS XVIII

What if we gave users the freedom to choose how they want to live? The project has turned this elongated plot into an opportunity for desi-gning ‘à la carte’ residential units. The idea was to provide freedom to customise living spaces, making residents the focus of the design process. Constructed mainly from timber, the building offers refined residential features, enhanced by a uniform glass facade. Each storey consists of a dual-aspect floor plate, extensively glazed on both opposing sides, and entirely configurable to resident needs. The rhythm of the facade, regular and vertical, also allows for a multitude of interior configurations. The resulting design addresses urban inte-gration challenges and evokes a sense of lightness and intimacy from the public realm, while also facilitating future adaptability.
