Three programs (student housing, rental and home ownership units) and a single building that brings serenity and structure to the district: these were the challenges facing this project. The design creates a natural flow toward the 104 cultural centre across the street, thanks to a large porch that pierces the building through to the Orgues de Flandres residential complex. On either side of the plot, each street is lined with a building extending around a garden that opens on one end toward the apartment towers. The buildings use a compact language, highlighted by strong horizontal lines that also provide generously sized balconies. Around the garden, the façade is designed as a series of pleats, offering far-reaching views over Paris.
