REVERSIBLE HIGHER EDUCATION FACILITIES & HOUSING, LYON

Located in the La Confluence district, macro-packages B1 and C1N will create a new fronting along the Rhône River. Within this complex, the four buildings proposed by PPX contribute to a subtle interplay of framework and massing. Designed as adaptable and rever-sible structures, the two educational facilities provide for future use evolutions. The 50-meter concrete-and-timber structure primarily offers duplex apartments with dual orientation and double-height loggias. Built entirely from wood, a small ten-unit building offers floor-through duplexes, each with a south-facing loggia. The ambition is to provide collective housing with the qualities of individual homes, and vice versa.
