The two project lots represent nearly 3 million m² of construction for around 60,000 housing units. It concerns two peripheral districts of Moscow which require major housing redevelopment intervention. such a scale of the project, comparable to a medium-sized French city, needs the implementation of a structured, generous and open architecture, spotlighting the public space to promote their ownership by Muscovites. An urban system made up of ten typologies has been established so as to achieve a mix of architectural and urban forms adapted to the context. Each typology is defined by the articulation of three intrinsic characteristics: the type of perforation of the facades, choice of material, and colorimetry. A great variety of combinations and variations has therefore been made possible. Finally, to magnify the public space, the sidewalks accompanying the buildings, courtyards, garden squares, and ground floors have been designed to form a common base so as to foster their ownership by the residents.
